Assembly of
Pool
*Please read and follow these
instructions carefully and in full before assembling the pool.
This is for your own safety*
Please note that due to the way it
works our heated pool does not come with a disposible liner. The
pool heater/filtration would not work if it a liner was used.
Our unheated pool comes with a new sterile disposible liner for
each new booking.
If you are worried then please remember that hospital pools also
do not come with disposible liners and are merely cleaned
between use.
We take cleaning of our pools very seriously. Please see the
link below for more details
Basic safety warnings
Unfold the pool and cover completely before inflating. Do not
over-inflate
Unplug the power pack after inflating the pool and while filling
with water
After filling ensure you bleed air from the filter before plugging
in the power pack
Make sure you remove the 3 white caps from inlets inside the pool
before filling with water and before plugging in the power pack
Always exercise caution when entering and exiting the pool
Always check the temperature before entering the pool.
We recommend 33-36C for
labour and 36-37C for birth.
Please follow the advice of your midwife
Do not put any electrical appliances such as TV, radio, light
within 5ft of the pool. Never let cats or other pets with sharp
claws near the pool
Never use an extension cord to connect the power pack
Never operate the pool without sufficient water in it
Always take care to protect the floors under and by the pool. We
accept no responsibility for damaged flooring due to failure to
protect your floor/carpet from moisture. It is your responsibility
to seek advice from a qualified architect or engineer to determine
if the floor will hold the weight of the pool.
Never open the power pack
Ensure the correct chemicals (provided) are used following the
instructions
Never lift the Power pack via the air loop
-
Please unpack the pool immediately upon receipt. We
clean and sterilise all pools, hoses and the pump unit the day before
sending and set the pool up to ensure it is working perfectly upon
despatch. All pools are dried as well as is possible but in order to
ensure they remain as sterile and clean as possible we advise not leaving
them in the boxes. We advise setting up the pool immediately so you can
ensure everything is working for you and that a last minute rush is
avoided in case you don't understand how any part works.
Assembly
Included is
A Power Pack
B Pool Liner with outer cover
C Top cover
D Inflatable cover
E Inflator hose
F Air loop

1. Unfold liner (B) to a flat position
2. Use inflator hose.
Before using the power pack
add the three feet to its base. Then remove the plastic bags from
the inlet pipes (retain and put safely for packing away). Check the
rubber washers are in place in the two smaller pipes.
NB - the Power pack sounds very noisy when inflating and when first
switched on. In normal use it is quiet and not noticeable when in
labour!
Connect inflator hose to power pack on the air
blower side and inflate three valves plus interior floor.
(Ensure circuit breaker used - press 1/0 button for air)

Check fit of nylon skin of pool - if off centre let some air out of
3 valves to loosen skin and adjust as necessary. Fill all tubes
until just firm
Hold down inflator adapter with one hand to prevent injury. Do not
over inflate lower tube.
Inflate lid
Remove air inlet hose and
unplug from mains.
3. Connect all three power pack fittings to pool.
(see Power Pack assembly below) -be careful not to overtighten.

Attach air blower
loop to the power pack. Make sure the 2 sets of screws are tightened
to prevent accidental removal (hand tighten only)

4. Inflate the inflatable cover and push down sides to fit. Place
blue top cover over this and line up 8 cover locks. These can be
locked by key for further safety
Power pack attachment
1. Attach 3 plastic feet to underside of the power pack if not
already there. Line up Power Pack connections to the spa connections
2. Attach the lower fitting one first being careful not to cross
threads. Make sure the 0-ring is seated and in place. Hand tighten
the nut to the lower fitting on the Power Pack.
3. Attach middle hose fitting next. Check to ensure hose washer is
in place. Hand tighten until snug. Repeat for upper connection.
4. Press air loop over 2 openings in top of the Power Pack until
snug. Tighten screws by hand
5. Wrap 5' wide vinyl strap around all 3 pack connections
6. The filter is fitted
- if you need to change it for any reason we provide a spare filter
at an additional cost of £20.

7. When not in use fit the inflatable cover
and then the blue cover which can be locked for safety

Filling the pool
Ensure Power pack is not plugged in
With the filling hose fill to approx 1' above the second air
chamber ring. Do not overfill.
Bleed the air from the filter tank before plugging in the Power
pack. Turn small black knob on the top of the filter tank
anti-clockwise for 1 minute or until water drips out.
Plug in power pack. The pump will turn on and begin flowing water.
if no water is flowing repeat the previous step. This is vital
since if no water is flowing the filter and heat will not work.
It is vital that the Power Pack is NOT used with an extension
cable
Filling takes from 30 minutes to several hours depending on the
water pressure in your house. This is why it is worth filling the
pool well before labour starts so you get to enjoy the pool for
the full length of your labour! We found the pool takes 45 minutes
to fill in our house
Filling with warm water will enable you to use the pool far
quicker but cold water can be used if time is not of the essence
as the power pack will heat the water
Temperature control
This is located at the top of the Power Pack. Push the arrow up or
down to adjust the temperature. We recommend starting at 35C as this
should maintain the temperature at around 36-37C once the lid is on.
The pool is designed to retain the temperature at the rate selected.

Cleaning and Emptying the pool
Use the submersible pump to empty the water. The small amount of
water left inside can be drained by pulling the pool on its side
slightly and emptying with a bucket
Wipe the pool out thoroughly using the cleaning fluids provided.
Please ensure that 100% of all body fluids are removed and all
stains removed. Rinse and dry the pool before packing. Do not use
abrasive cleaning aids such as steel wool, abrasive cleaners etc.
The exterior can be wiped with a mild soap and water solution then
rinsed with clean water
Throw the filter away if the pool has been used for birth/and or
labour.

Care of the pool whilst in use
Change the water once a week and clean the filter if the pool has
been used (unplug power pack, place caps on the 3 fittings inside
the pool, unscrew retainer ring from filter housing, lift filter out
and clean with high pressure hose, place filter back and hand
tighten retainer ring, remove caps from inside pool, open air bleed
on top of the filter housing for 1 minute, plug power pack into wall
outlet, reset temperature)
Wipe round pool with the milton provided as this will sterilise the
surface.
Adding Chemicals
Once the pool is full add one cap (20ml) of Bayroplus SPA liquid.
When the water has been heated add one tablet to the pool. Add one
tablet each time the pool is used and at least once a week.
The outside of the pool must be cleaned with water/Vanish spray
immediately if marked to prevent stains developing
When giving birth (second
stage) turn off Power Pack and fit plastic caps inside pool

Cleaning the Filter
When pool is empty open the top of the
filter tank and lift off lid.
Remove filter and clean with water/rinse carefully.
Replace filter into the tank and replace lid making sure the
large 0-ring is correctly fitted around the top of the tank.
Refill pool
A spare filter is included if needed - this will be charged at an
extra £20 which can be deducted from your retainer or paid for
separately

Emptying the
Pool
Turn off the Power Pack and unplug from circuit breaker
Plug in submersible pump to circuit breaker
Attach the emptying hose to the pump ensuring it is correctly
fitted
Place the end of the hose somewhere suitable for emptying the
water (bath/outside etc)
Switch on and empty the pool
When the water reaches the bottom of the pump place the pump on
the power pack side of the pool and tilt the pool towards the power
pack.
Once the water is below the level of the valve on the base turn
off the pump and remove from the pool. Tilt the pool and remove
remaining water with a bucket or similar.
The pool can be wiped round with diluted sterilising fluid
If deflating the pool remove caps and apply pressure until air is
removed. Please clean and dry the pool before doing this

Are the chemicals safe?
We use a 2 part Active oxygen system. This is far gentler than usual
pool chemicals and no incidences of harm to the baby and mother have
been found
We use Bayroklar Spa and
Bayroplus Spa which is a 2 part Active Oxygen system designed for
use in home spas. This is far gentler than usual spa care products
and is less irritating to the skin. The tablets provide protection
against bacteria and the liquid guards against algae and acts as a
system activator.

How is the Pool cleaned and cared for?
Heated pool: At the end of each rental and just before they
are sent out to customers we clean and sterilize the pool
thoroughly. A new
filter is provided for each rental. We supply an active oxygen
system to keep the pool free from bacteria whilst in use.
We take cleaning the pool very seriously which is why we supply
separate hoses for filling and emptying and also take great care
with cleaning and sterilizing between each rental. We flush out the
pump unit with sterilising fluid too and all hoses.
The pool will arrive ready to put up and use but if you wish feel
